Automatic Visual Inspection System (AVI) Overview
Automatic Visual Inspection is the combination of Machine Vision technology with Computer Vision science applied to the industrial sector. With reference to the pharmaceutical industry, the visual inspection technology is based on automated cameras and on complex vision algorithms that determine if the container is fit to comply with given standards by detecting:

How Automatic Visual Inspection Method Works
For each inspected container, a collection of product images in sequence at 360° is acquired using high resolution cameras under designed illuminating conditions. Defects on the package are identified and/or measured by dedicated image processing algorithms and the package is classified as conforming or non-conforming accordingly. Non-conforming packages are automatically rejected. In case of detection of Foreign Particulate Matter (FPM) with liquid content: the container is first put into motion, then stopped, followed by the acquisition of product images by high-resolution cameras that record a series of images. With powder or lyophilized content, the container is put into motion and cameras record a series of images, in sequence, at different moments during rotation.
The vision technology and automatic control principle adopted in the automatic visual inspection machine to implement the tested product rotate at high speed and brake instantly by mechanical method.
Special light source system and ultra-high speed precision industrial camera are used to obtain images of the tested product series.
The intelligent image processing algorithm software system independently developed by HAWKEYE is applied to compare, calculate and analyze the images to complete the inspection process of the products.
The unqualified products are rejected by the executive mechanism of the automatic control system.

Inspection Principle – Overall
Visible foreign matter detection: Using the principle of machine vision, through a series of processes such as "steady bottle feeding -> high-speed bottle rotation -> emergency stop -> photo shooting-> high-speed calculation -> sorting", products containing visible foreign matter can be separated from normal products.
The inspection contents include: glass pieces, glass scraps, hair, white spots, white pieces, fibers and other visible foreign matters;
Appearance inspection: According to the specific inspection requirements, design the systems of lighting, photography and processing , which are generally carried out in a static manner. Visible foreign body inspection principle – Give light
1. Reflection imaging (Tyndall effect)
2. Diffraction Imaging Technology
The diffraction method without direct light exposure can eliminate bubbles and is more suitable for detecting glass fiber cilia.
It mainly detects visible foreign matter such as glass scraps, white spots, and cilia.
3. Monochromatic light, polychromatic light, trichromatic light transmission imaging.
Mainly detects visible foreign matter such as black spots, carbonization, hair, insects/mosquitoes,, etc.

• Water like liquid ,generally, contains sugar, and it is easy to generate bubbles when rotating. However, its movement trajectory is regular, opposite to the movement direction of glass, and the position in the bottle is also different. Layered detection can identify more accurately, thereby reducing missed detection and false detection.

Advanced defective product sorting method (Bernoulli principle)
• The dial wheel is used to automatically separate good products from defective products, and the good products and defective products enter the corresponding collection trays respectively.
• Based on the principle of aerodynamics, a compressed air blowing method (patented) is creatively proposed to make the bottles more smoothly transported, effectively solving the problem that the solenoid valve and air pipe will be blocked when using compressed air.
